Rules and Regulations
- United States Bowling Congress Rules and
Regulations will govern this tournament. Bowlers must be prepared to present
their cards at the time of the tournament or they will be required to obtain
Affiliate membership cards at a cost of $25.00.
- Averages: Entrants will use their highest
final ABC WIBC sanctioned league average for 2008-2009 season with a minimum
of 21 games unless a bowler's averages as of December 1st is ten or more
pins higher than last season's final average. Then the bowler must use
his/her highest average as of December 1, 2009. If no acceptable 2008-2009
average, use highest current sanctioned league average with a minimum of 21
games effective December 1st or upon reaching 21 games if after December
1st. Sport league averages must be adjusted per rule 203/205. All others bowl scratch, based on 225 for all bowlers. Summer league
averages are not acceptable. Must use average verification form to insure
correct average before bowling any events.
- Handicap based on 225 scratch, 90% allowed
with 76 pin maximum per game for MBA entrants and 103 pin maximum for WBA
entrants, computed on an individual basis.
- It shall be each bowler's responsibility
to verify the accuracy of his/her highest average, whether originally
submitted by the bowler, his team captain or others. Any bowlers
participating with an average lower than what is officially correct
automatically forfeits prize money and entry fees, and disqualifies any and
all scores he/she has helped to establish, and all team members forfeit any
claims to prize awards. No entry refund will be allowed for such violation.
If the average is higher than officially correct, WIBC/ABC Rule 319A-3 will
apply.
- Substitutions or line up changes must be
reported at least one hour before bowling to the tournament manager. When
possible, any corrections should be mailed in ahead of bowling day.
- All bowlers are automatically entered in
both Handicap and Scratch divisions. All prizes are returned 100% on a ratio
of 1 to 10 in each event and 1 in 20 in All Events.
- Winning teams, partners or individuals will
be placed in the division in which their standings earn the most money. They
cannot claim both scratch and handicap prizes for the same score. They will
be awarded the prize paying the greater amount and if equal amount, the
prize on the handicap basis.
- Multiple Participation: Teams-Bowler may
compete with as many as he or she desires-teams may enter more than once-But
no more three (3) bowlers on the same BA/WBA or two (2) bowlers on a mixed
team can place more than once in the team prize list position standings.
Doubles-Partners may re-enter and will only cash once, with the highest
score, or by changing partners. In doubles a bowler may cash as many times
as scores allow--In Singles one time only. When a bowler competes more than
once in any event, scores of his event will count toward All Events. Mixed
Teams-will consist of 4 bowlers (2 MBA, 2 WBA) but no more than 2 bowlers
on the same team can place more than once in the prize list position
standings. Multiple participation is allowed by changing at least 2 teams'
members. Doubles/Singles-Bowlers may re-enter during tournament, provided
space is available.
- In the event of machine breakdown and
unusual delay is anticipated, bowling on such lanes will be moved to another
pair of lanes assigned by tournament officials; or to return on another date
when the same lanes are available during the duration of the tournament. In
all cases, game will continue from point of breakdown.
- Premature termination of the tournament
brought about by war, national emergency or emergency causes relating
thereto or therefore, fires, strikes, lockouts, labor difficulties or other
reasons beyond the control of the tournament committee shall cause the
foregoing prize schedule to be pro-rated in accordance with the number of
entrants who have bowled in each of the respective events up to the time of
termination.
- Unmarried Grade and High School students
under 18 years of age must have written consent of their parents or guardian
on an approved form which must be submitted to the Tournament Secretary at
least one week before participation unless students are accompanied by his
or her parent or legal guardian at the tournament in which case the consent
form may be filed at that time.
- All bowlers must comply with USBA Rule
319E and 319A & D concerning re-rated averages for any reason must
submit this fact in writing for entry into this tournament. Failure to
comply with this rule may result in forfeiture of all entry fess and/or
prize money.
- CLOSING DATE FOR ENTRIES WILL BE THE LAST
SQUAD OF THE LAST DAY OF THE TOURNAMENT.
- No entry fees will be refunded under any
circumstances - once the tournament has begun.
- Lanes will be randomly pre-assigned and
posted prior to your scheduled times.
- Pacers are allowed to bowl as per USBC
Rule 323.
IF ANY BOWLER HAS QUALIFIED FOR A TOTAL OF $300 OR MORE IN
PRIZES IN TOURNAMENT DURING THE PAST YEAR, PLEASE NOTIFY TOURNAMENT SECRETARY.
YOU MUST HAND IN A SHEET CONTAINING THE BOWLER OR BOWLERS NAMES, THE AMOUNT,
WHAT TOURNAMENT THEY CASHED, AND WHAT SCORES WERE ROLLED. MULTIPLE PARTICIPATION
ALLOWED. SEE RULE #8

UP VERIFICATION FORM, VERIFICATION FORMS MUST BE RETURNED NO LATER THAN 10 DAYS
AFTER TOURNAMENT ENDS--OR FACE DISQUALIFICATION OF HANDICAP SCORES.

17. ALL
EVENTS--Men Bowlers may bowl in BA and Mixed divisions. You must bowl
teams, doubles and singles in each respective division to have your scores count
toward all events.
Women Bowlers may bowl in
BA, WBA and Mixed divisions. You must bowl teams, doubles and singles in each
respective division to have your scores count toward all events. NO MIXING
of scores from one division to another to count as all events.
ALL BOWLERS MUST
ENTER BEFORE YOUR FIRST EVENT BOWLED, TO BE INCLUDED IN ALL EVENTS.
18. REGULAR
DIVISIONS ARE BA AND WBA. Doubles and singles events will be chosen by
checking desired box at top of team event on application.
